Wilga’s birthday. Had to coax myself out at 8.30am, quite nippy still. Rushed away after breakfast to “Ardrossan”, Mr Jim Schmidt’s, for tennis. Had a most enjoyable morning and played quite well which always helps. Returned to Goolburra for dinner. Guess I can’t take too much rich food – I felt quite squirmy after dinner – most unusual for me. We all had a rest anyway, after dinner, which we didn’t finish until 3pm, that is washing up included.

Got up at 5pm and washed out a few things and pressed my other washing from yesterday. Helen, Ewan and Vere have just had a hit on the Goolburra tennis court but I declined having to write up this diary and also felt a quiet sit more in my line – wonder what has caused this? Have had to cope with the very playful little kitten while I have brought this up to date – a little sandy and white tabby tom.

Betty, David, Vere and Ewan joined us for a barbecue steak tea, after which we all set forth for “Ardrossan“. Betty and Jim Schmidt had invited one or two others over and we had a very enjoyable evening showing my films. They were such an appreciative audience too and appeared to enjoy them all. Had many compliments passed about them. Returned to Goolburra after an enjoyable supper. Washed up our barbecue dishes and went to bed.
